Wheel and Tire size
Hello, I am fairly new to this site. I have tried to do as much research on this subject as i can but there seems to be a little grey area here. I have a 96 Blazer 4x4 4-door and I am in process of putting on a 2" BL. The beast is in need of an alignment and tires any way so now is a good time to figure this out. I would like to put a nice set of tires on the Rock Crawler Series 97 15x7 with 4.5" BS. Now I wanna wrap these up with the biggest tires i can tuck without trimming. I have considered also adding another 1.5" to the lift with t-bar and shackles, however, the beast has quite a few miles on her and i don't wanna blow out cv's as soon as i pull off the road. So you can get the best idea here, this is not a regular off-road truck. So I don't wanna do a big lift for this. More or less I like to go down a few trails here and there, I want function with good looks. Thus the 4.5" backspacing, I like it when they stick out. So with this in mind, got any suggestions?

With the 4.5' backspacing you're going to have issues with anything larger than a 30.
To give you an idea, I've got pretty much what youre talking about.
2' body lift, 1.5' up on the tbar, 2' shackles, and I trimmed off the lower rear of the front of the wheel wells. My tires are 30x10.50s, and I STILL rub about 6' up on the wheel well when I'm turning in special situations, and offroad I've hit the top of the wheel arch pretty good. Everything would be more complicated with 31s. Now I am fine for everyday street driving. The only time I hit at full lock turning is when I've got a loaded truck (3-4 passengers), or if I hit a bump at full lock with any speed (driveways).
If you want larger tires, get at least 5' of backspacing, or trim a WHOLE lot more.
