I droped the one of the nutts that holds the fuel line to the spider injector i dropt it in one of the holes on top of the cam chaft it mabe siting on top of a lobe or did it fall in the pan? Or stais on to of the plate underneath and will fall in the pan i dont know what to do went fishing for it cant get it should i just leave it and hope for the best?

 

You got a 50/50 chance. But even if it hit the pan, I would pull the pan and try to get it out for piece of mind.

You definitely can't see the nut anywhere? If it can be seen you might be able to reach it with a 3-prong grabber tool.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to turn the engine over a few times by hand to get the nut to drop into the oil pan if it hasn't already. I wonder if it would be a good idea to use compressed air to help it move into the oil pan.

One time I dropped the spider nut into the intake manifold. After removing the manifold, I could see that the nut had bounced into drivers side head. I was able to use a hooked pick to pull the nut into view and then remove it.

It is a good idea to lay rags across the lifter valley so if a nut drops it can be retrieved. Same thing with the intake manifold, coolant ports, intake ports, and exhaust y-pipes if they are open.

 

Ditto. You risk the moon shooting for the stars. You gotta get that nut before you crank that motor....
