Default Cruise control 1993 Blazer

The cruise control cable on my Blazer is broken. My question is has anyone repaired or replaced just the cable? If so what cable did you use and how did you do it? If you replaced the whole cable and housing then where did you find one? Thanks for any input.

You could try Truck Parts & Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford & Dodge Trucks | LMCTruck.com
Or going to a pull it yard and snatching one off a wrecked blazer/jimmy/bravada around the same year.

Default I think I fixed it

Well being a machinist all my working life I have the tools and abilities to fix most things. So to fix the broken cruise control I just needed to replace the cable right? What I did was to go down to my local bike shop and buy a $4 cable of the same diameter. I machined a new end that pulls on the throttle valve out of aluminum with a hollow sleeve for the cable to go into and a threaded end to attach the eye loop. I put it all together and made a swaging end ring the same size as the original cut the cable to length and swaged it together. now to put it back in and try it out. I had priced one on line and it was $89, ouch too much for me so I went the $4 rout. Much more satisfying to fix my own parts better than factory.
