Help needed. 94 K5 Blazer's cruise control is not engaging. I replaced the Module and wiring connector today, as the bottom 2 pins were corroded and rusty and I could only assume faulty as well. The replacements came off of a '94 Suburban so should be an exact match there. Still did not resolve the issue.

Does this model cruise have any association to the ECM? Other than a brakelight switch, I'm at a loss as to the nature of how this could occur.

Here's a picture of the connector I replaced.



Pins 3, 7, and 8 starting from top left to right have power whether the switch is on or off using a test light. Did not get any other pins to light up when the set or resume button is pushed.

Any help anyone could give is appreciated.

 

Update: I took a multi meter and went through to check voltages on the pins. 3, 7, and 8 are pushing 14 VAC constant current. Pin 4 I found is the set button and when the switch is on and pushed, it also puts out 14 VAC. When the switch is in the off position and the button is pushed it does not push any current through so I can only assume the switch is good and working.

No other pins are allowing current through.

Didn't know if this information would help, but I wanted to let you know what else I did on this. Thoughts?

Thanks. It appears that the switch itsellf is bad. The only other question I have, is does the steering column have to be broken down to replace the lever assy.? I can see it move, but don't see how it's connected on the 3 -way swivel.

 

By any chance can this be used for a 2001 blazer as well???
