'02 Transmission fluid/filter change
Did this yesterday....not too bad...but of course messy, very messy. At least on this Blazer the pan does come out without having to drop the front exhaust down unlike the '95 that I used to have. What a PITA that was.
Anyways, if anyone decides to do this job, be sure to have a LARGE drip pan sheet and a wide tub to catch all the fluid.
And if you are going to be keeping your Blazer for years....invest in the $10 drain plug kit and put a drain plug in the trans pan. That way next time....much, much less mess.
Now time for me to change the fuel filter.....

hi, i have a 95 that i want to change the tranny fluid on it. how is it different than your 02 model? and is it easier on a 95 to drop the pan? thanks

I was told that you needed to drop the lower A frame to get the pan off of my 02? True or false?

Here's a tip take out the trans mount, jack trans up and use a pry bar and the pan drops down.

The '02 auto trans fluid pan comes off very easily, nothing in the way. Just makes a mess as the fluid will come out all around the pan edge. This is why I suggested having a large fluid catch pan under the vehicle.
Now the '95...at least the one I had....I had to loosen the exhaust downpipes from the exhaust manifolds as the cross-over pipe kept the auto trans pan from coming all the way off.
