98 blazer, sunroof stops 1/2" short when closing
i just bought a 98 blazer with a sunroof, and it opens fine but stops about a 1/2" short of being fully closed. i can't see anything that looks like it's holding it up, except maybe for that piece towards the front of the truck that pops up a bit when the sunroof opens. when you go to close it, it looks like it might be getting caught up on that, but i tried pushing it down with a screwdriver while closing the sunroof and it doesn't make a difference. just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else before and what the solution was.

Well I might not be a huge help as I have never owned a car with a sunroof or worked on one. But, I found a couple replies on other websites which might give you something to try.
Make sure your cables are clean and operating smoothly. They and the exposed rails should be free of lube and dirt.
Make sure the roof panel is adjusted correctly.
Make sure the headliner does not get in the way of the sliding path of the panel.
Often the small gear inside the gearbox fails. It can be replaced easily.
The same thing is true for the rubber coupling. that fits on the shaft of the gearbox.
I also read that there is a way to "reset" the sunroof by opening it all the way holding the switch in the open position for about 20 seconds after it opens all the way then close the sunroof.

I have the same problem with my 98 blazer.
You can assist it on the closing action and the window will seal all the way.
This problem came out of no where, only noticed it when after a summer beach day I had a puddle in the front after a night shower.
No obstruction on the tracks. Kinda werid
