Well I wouldnt jump right to the conclusion of a bad fuel filter. A lot of people would suggest things like clean your egr valve. Is your cat bad, does your exaust smell? When was the last time the thing had a general tune up? Tire pressue good? Air filter good? Fuel filter clean (you may notice poor acceleration or hesitation if this is bad)? Are you stuck in 4x4 and you dont know? There are a ton of other things I missed out, and this is just to get you started. But others that respond to this will probably inform you about more technical issues you may have that I left out.

Also how much fuel do you put in it when you fill up? My fuel light comes on when I have 5 gallons left in my 18.5 gallon tank. Could be you gauge does not read correctly like mine. Korey.

My 95 mileage took a dump this past week from an average of 15mpg all fall and early winter to 13mpg driving the same roads etc...Have to think it is the fuel as it is running well.
