Alrightly I got a question for y'all. I'm getting ready to do a tune up on the blazer and looking on summit for distributor caps and rotors. They have two different contact metals brass and aluminum. Which is better?

 

Well only update date is I changed my wiring around for my light bar. I still need to go through and make it neater. I did have a little problem not sure how it happened but after I finished the wiring I hit the switch and got out. About a minute later there was smoke rolling out so I quickly unhooked the battery and looked inside and found this.


It melted all the wire inside.

I also been working on this at work its a older dodge panel truck. I never really seen one before. Straight six and 4 speed. And of course it burnt and my boss got it for parts.

 

Hopefully Monday I can get the blazer back on the road. The license ran up on it and been driving my beater car but it decided to quit me. The oil pump went out and the motor started knocking bad.

I might be getting a project car this weekend. My boss has a 1984 camaro z28 t top at the yard. He told me it has a 406. it looks rough but no rust and barely any dents. I'll get pics tomorrow.

 

I got the blazer legal and back on the road. I notice that my speedo sometimes works and sometimes don't. I think my grand Prix needle isnt tight on the peg. I got a rpm needle off another gauge cluster and gonna change it out
I plan on welding up my exhaust this weekend it the weather isn't ****ty since I have to fix my dads exhaust on his ranger. I got a super 40 single in/ dual out muffler that I'm gonna dump before the axle till I get exhaust pipe and tips.

I did get a new project. 1984 camaro z28 with a 406. Not sure on the trans yet. I haven't looked at it. I plan on making a build thread if y'all are interested. I gotta track down a wiring problem. Luckily my bosses' son really good with wiring and he's gonna help me. He's also gonna sell me some z06 wheels for it.

 

Well I my dang driveshaft broke on me tonight. I was going up a hill from my house and i heard a pop and some banging on the floorboard. I put it in park and let off the brake and it started rolling back. Does anyone know if a driveshaft from a zr5 will work in a blazer?

 

Well since im at sick for the I figure I update my thread. Over the weekend I had my water pump quit me and one of rear ujoints go out. Lucky when my water pump quit I was pulling into autozone.

Quick question is there anyone on here that rebuilds gauge clusters? I'm wanting to get my old one rebuilt and have less put in it with my grandprix needles.

And hopefully I'll have my 4th zr5 wheel by this weekend so I can get my other tires put on them and get them on the blazer

 

Well went out to the junkyard yesterday and got some parts. I picked up a brake booster, brake caliper, master cylinder from a c2500, grille, valance and front G6 seats. I'm gonna go out Monday and get a third brake light, front fender flares from a ZR5, and transfer case shift motor.

 

I woke up day with my driver side front window being broke out. But one the bright side my buddy gave me an older Kicker CVR 12" sub with a Audiopipe GM-1002 amp. I'm gonna get a window at work tomorrow and have one of my coworkers put it in

 

 

I painted my bowtie today.

I also picked up some new Pioneer speakers yesterday. They were just some cheapos from Walmart. My front speakers ended up taken a dump on me. I plan on taking my Z28 wheels off my camaro tomorrow and putting them on my blazer.
