Default '84 Chevy s10 v6 2.8 engine

so, I recently bought this blazer, it's in PERFECT condition, but recently motor is shot. is there anywhere I can buy a used engine for a fair price that's not in a horrible state? I'm very new at this.
thanks

I have a rebuilt 4.3 vortec that came in most all Blazers in my Blazer that was totalled a few months ago that I'd be happy to sell. We have all paperwork from the rebuild and it had less than 20K miles put on it I believe. Where are you located?

4.3 is different bell housing - flywheel - ect. than a 2.8 not a direct bolt in - For a used engine you might find one in a wrecking yard and for a rebuilt long block if nothing else most part stores can get them for under two grand

there is many options out there besides a new long block I was just adding that as a option - for my old 84 I picked up a 83 blazer without a title for a parts vehicle for hundred bucks - I keep thinking the old 2.8 in my 84 will puke one of these days and I'll swap out the engine but so far it's like a timex watch it keeps on ticking down the road
