I got a 1997 blazer 4 wheel drive 4.3ltr

So the motor has 241000 miles.. low oil pressure.. knock.. I bought a motor with 93000 miles.. its a 4x4. I want to pull the motor with the trans.. since the bell housing bolts are a pain for most to get to..

So im wondering on the transfer case... remove front axel.. but do u remove the transfer case completly..?

Also will the trans even come out with the engine comming up that high over the front end of the truck? Ive pulled on cars with np..
Other people said to drop the rear of the trans to grt to thenbell bolts. Etc.. but I figure it may as well just be easier to pull it with the trans

Just asking around and some insite before I do this.

 

Ok so I decided to leave the trans in. Ive been reading around.. basically to get to the bell housing bolts.. everyones saying to drop the cross member and lower the rear of the tranny and the trans and engine will tilt enough to get at them.. with extensions.. I will have the tranny supported with a couple jacks.. but how do u keep the engine tilted while undoing the.bolts.. tske out all the bolts..anything still holding tranny and engine at at angle.. even tho I will have the engine hoist chained up to the engine. Also do u take.out the tourque converter bolts before doing this step?

As for the drive shaft.. do u take that out at the rearend? Middle?
