Default Expensive gas bills

Hi!
I bought a Chevrolet Blazer -98 with the V6 engine a couple of weeks ago. Now I have realized that it takes up to 2.5 liters per 10 kilometers. That is about 40 % (1 liter) more than the astimated gas milage. Are there any universal solutions out there? Thank you in advance!

Default RE: Expensive gas bills

That works out to be ~9.5 miles per gallon(US). I would say it is time for a tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Clean the MAF sensor and the EGR valve (new gasket w/ integrated screen). Depending on mileage, it may be time to change the two upstream sensors (the ones in front of the 'Y' in the y-pipe). I generally do not like to recommend that they just be changed, but rather that you look at the sensor trace and cross counts, but if you do not have access to the proper scan tool, you cannot do that.
