Default Tranny Oil Line replacement?

Hi All,

I have a 98 Blazer 4x4 v6, Found the source of my tran. fluid leak. It is coming from one of the 2 metal lines that run up to the radiator...Source is at about the point where the line runs past/below the frame on the passenger front side. It looks to be resting against a bolt on the frame, guessing it has rubbed a hole...It that an easy/ cheap fix, or am I spending some cash on this...seems simple...but im a pretty basic fixer....Thanks All!

I guess Im more curious as to how i go about changing the coolant line, i know its a cheaper part, but is it D.I.Y.? I cant see where the line connects to the tranny. Any info is much appreciated!

the line on top of the rad. run's to the line on top of the tranny I'm not 100 % sure about the 4x4 but the lines tie in on the passenger side of the tranny and they're stacked on top of on another and just remember the top to top, and bottom to bottom on the rad. and the tranny. You can get them Prebent at Autozone I have a two wheel drive they were pretty simple to change out

Thanks for the info! I'm going to pick up the part tonight. Its the Lower line that has the issue, and i see that it just threads into the radiator, but how/where does it attach to the tranny? Any seals/gaskets i may need?, also, is this going to dump all my fluid when I swap them? Thanks! This is seriously a great resource!

IrishDrums, you can simply crimp the old one (similar to kinking a hose) while you install the new one - fluid loss is minimal. I used steel gas line tube and a pipe bender when I swapped the motor and tranny in my '86 Cutlass...PITA! It probably mounts on top of the transmission. Because it is impossible to see, I recommend that you start there, not at the radiator.

msmari217, you will probably need to start a new thread for this...
