Default vent hose leaking tranny fluid

my 97 4x4 s10 blazer has the 4l60E in it and as long as i dont drive it real far its fine but if i drive it more then 10 to 20 miles i start leaking tranny fluid from the vent hose and its a good leak to it gets on my motor and the exhaust and starts smoking i really want to figure out if this something i can fix or if i need to just go ahead and rebuild the tranny

check your transfer case for fluid level [top big nut on the back side of the case] - if its over full the front seal in the transfer case is bad and its getting fluid from the trans - transfer case on the two that i have vents up there and the trans just has a inch or two long metal vent at the top of the trans

I never even thought about that I will check it in the morning when I get up and see if its to full it should let fluid out when I take that nut off right

if over full it will pour out - might be a quart or two might want to put a catch pan under it just in case
