Ignition, I just lost my ignition switch on my 1979 K-5 Blazer and, for the life of me can not seem to get that spring down far enough to get the retainer clip back on the cover plate that goes above the signal cluster. I don't know if there is a easier way than just pressure by hand to get it down farther or what. It seems to be bottoming out long before I can even see the groove in which the clip goes back into. Have any of you ever changed out the Ignition switch on a 1979 K-5 Blazer like this before that may have a easier way to get that spring down farther. Thanks everyone

The last time I dealt with that I used a short piece of tube that just slid over the shaft and walked the ring clip down with the main nut. Can't remember if I needed a pair of screwdrivers to pry on it to get that last lil click or not. You are talking about trying to get your steering wheel and all that back together I hope.
