informal poll for all lifted trucks!
#11
Are you having any issues with the calipers rubbing?
#12
no not at all.
#13
body lift 50 (craigslist luck)
shackle torsion lift 100
bds suspension lift 1700
all the tweeks for the bds lift 200
doing the work your self saves tons of money. however the details will nickle and dime you.
after the bds lift i had to get pinion shims, balance driveshaft, camber issues (fixed that)
is it a pain...yes.
do i ever get tired of looking at my truck or pulling up to a stock blazer and tower over them??? NEVER!!!

My Blazer has a 2" PA body lift that I scored for free on Kijiji along with 1.5" T-bar and 2" add-a-leaf. I'm currently running 31x10.5x15's although I'm moving to a 265/70/17's as soon as I can get the tires mounted. I expect I'll need to massage the front fender's some more too with the new rims and tires.

i gotta ask, whats the "backspace"? is that the distance from the tread face of the tire to the fender corner?
#16
Backspace is the distance from the mounting face of the rim (where the hub face sits against the rim) to the inside edge of the rim. The easiest way to measure it would be to put the rim shiny side down, and place a straight bar across the edges of the rim (think measuring the diameter). Then measure from that bar down to the mounting face of the rim.
Lower backspacing pushes the wheel further out from the truck. Stock 4x4 backspacing is 6", while the 2wd S-series has 4.5" of backspacing.

sas swap, i have about 2500 in it, almost finished and i dont regret it even though im not driving the truck, being able to stuff 37s and be smaller (lower COG) than my sisters jeep on 33s with 6in lift is amazing...and 40s fit nice as well.

SFA swap only $2000 in it, $1000 on the axles, gears, lockers. Daily driver, and I pound on it. Could do the swap for $1300 with stock junk yard axles. Im doing a second build now. Love it.
I did blow the C8.25" rear end, so im building a F8.8. $100 for the complete axle with brakes, $180 for 4.56 gears, $125 master rebuild kit, $300 for a locker with heavy duty cross pin.
