um...rattling!? you better get your timing chain looked at there.... how many miles on it? has it ever been done? it could also be causing your bad gas mileage. of course there are the basics, when was the last tune up, clogged fuel injectors, egr clean and working right? oil changes regular? anything leakins?

Hmm... I'm getting 16-17mpg and I think that is perfectly fine for the driving that I do (hills and such).
And yeah, a tune up wouldn't hurt a thing.

RE: Gas Mileage/Sending Unit & Buzzing
Hey everyone, first post here.
I have a 2001 Blazer LS 4x4 that I've had for almost two years now. Moving up in the world from a Grand Am GT to the Blazer I knew my mileage would suck. I added a Flowmaster Muffler (not exhaust) a few months after I got the truck, just a few months ago I added a K&N FIPK and have noticed that my mileage is up around 19.5 mpg for city driving.
