Default Cut front springs

I want to lower the front end of my 2003 Blazer Xtreme. Question i want to lower 1". How much spring needs to be cut to acheive this. I don't want to install drop spindles. Also would i need new shocks once lowered

There is a 2:1 ratio because the spring is half way to the lbj. The spring wire is roughly 1/2 inch dia. When the spring is installed the ends are almost coil bound. To answer the question about one third to one half turn might be right. You should not need new shocks unless you drastically cut the bump stops.Xtreme shocks are already shorter than normal . Hint: don't use a cuttimg torch.
