Default 1988 s10 blazer 2.8

hello evryone. i have a 1988 s10 blazer with a 2.8 liter. i will be driving the truck at 55 fo 20 miles or so then it will loose power. will be to the floor with gas peddle and it will not go past 30. will shut it of and wait 30 minutes and it will be fine for 10 minutes then act up again.at idle you can punch it and it sounds bogged out. need help !!!!!!

Possible clogged fuel filter or catalytic converter. Try fuel filter first it's cheaper than a cat.

Could possibly be a problem with the coil overheating.

changed plugs , cap rotor, fuel filter was about a couple of months ago.there is no egr valve on this truck it was removed. is there a way to test the coil?

i think Autozone will test them. Problem is since it works fine until it heats up its going to test good most likely. I think coils for the 2.8 is only like 20 bucks.

another good thing u might wana look into i had a 88 idle air control valve and tps and fuel pump and o2 sensor i did those but make sure u dont buy then from autozone i made that mistake and does it high idle ? like does it seem like it reveing itself ? i know the high idel is valve lash adjustment theres a special way to do it and all the s-10 v6 2.8 have this issue from 82 to 94 with that engine shoot me some more info i can surely help u out on sensor wise and tell u how to test them all my 88 lasted up to 400,000 miles and 1 rebuilt trans

well took cat off was told it mite be clogged banged it out.adjusted the tps all ready.where is the air control valve?fuel filter is only a few months old.truck is wierd does not happen every day.will run fine for weeks then act up.well any thing you can do will be appreciated. all info on promblem is posted above need it fixed a.s.a.p only vechicle and winter is coming and we live in oregon!!!haha
