Default 1990 s10 blazer turn signal

I have a similar problem to another member that I read about on here. That is, when I use the turn signals, sometimes the wipers will activate and sweep just one time. My question is, Would that be a matter of just replacing the lever assembly? Or, would I or Should I also replace the switch assembly inside the steering column? I have a feeling that the problem is in the lever switches for the wipers but not sure. Anyone have any experience with this funny little quirk and have any remedies/experience with the same problem, your help would be greatly appreciated. I've seen the lever assemblies on Ebay for around $20.00 or so...Thanks!

There is a known TNN for the mystery swipe of the wipers. I am the original owner of my 89 S15 Jimmy and the wipers would just do a mystery swipe. I finally got it fixed at a chevy dealer. I believe they install a resistor some where. Below is a link addressing Phantom Wiper Swipes.
