wipers turn on when using turn signal

Default wipers turn on when using turn signal

I just replaced the wiper motor in my 88 s10 blazer. Now when I se the turn signal the wipers start going. Also they don't always finish their cycle and get stuck. Do you think that the lever on the column is bad or the pulse board on the motor?

Did the wipers have a mind of their own when it rains? Mine get possesed when I try to use them.
