Default 2.8 valve cover options

I have a 1985 2.8 v6 and would like to upgrade to a little nicer valve covers. I was looking at something like the fiero valve covers but haven't ben able to located a set. what are my other options?

Thanks, Kirk

I don't really know what you are into but have you checked out something like LMC?

I'd stick with the stock ones before I put chrome ones on one. Its bad enough trying to seal the 3 different surfaces made of 2 different metals with them. You add the slickness of chrome and you are asking for leaks.

The reason most of us track down the fiero covers besides for the looks is the much better sealing gasket design over the crappy cork gaskets.

How about cavalier valve covers? If I remember correctly they are aluminum, and have a squared off design with the flat spots shiney and the rest is aluminum color, the older ones had a 2.8. Im sure they are the same as the fiero ones and much easier to find... I think you might be able to use the newer 3.1 ones from a cavalier too, they look nice if you clean them up and paint them, then use some sandpaper to clean the paint off the flat spots. Wrecker yards should be full of these cars.

I was at a U-pull it junk yard this past week but didn't check the cavalier. I seen ones that looked pretty nice off a buick regal but it was a 3.8 and the holes were in the wrong spot so it wouldn't have fit. They did have 4 fieros there but all had 4 cyl. I'll check the calaliers out next time I go.
Thanks, Kirk

The only options you have besides stamped steel (like you have) are from a fiero. Other 60 degree engines use a different head design and result in a different valve cover. The fiero was the only iron headed 60 degree v6 that got the cast aluminum covers and sorry to say the only ones that will swap out with us. I wish it wasn't the case as they are getting harder to find but trust me they are well worth it. I'm actually looking for a spare set myself.
