4WD vacuum switch '93 s10 - Where?
I need to replace the vacuum switch on a '93 s10 4.3 Blazer. I have the switch, but I have no lift and have to crawl around. Can anyone give me really good directions on how to get at it or even a picture? '93 s10 4.3 shift on the floor. Thanks

If you're referring to the vacuum switch atop the transfer case then it's not too difficult to find. If you lay on your back and put your hand on top of the transfer case you'll be able to feel where the three hoses go to the switch on top of the case. If I remember correctly you should be able to pull the switch straight up and off the transfer case with the hoses attached.
Transfer the hoses over to the new switch making sure to keep them in the same places relative to the switch and then install the new switch with the hoses onto the transfer case in the same place you removed the old one from. It's not too difficult; I did it on my wife's '93 Jimmy.

Toby,
I had to remove the protective plate that was bolted to the frame (took three minutes) to get at it. The hardest part was getting the new one threaded back in. Breath deep and stay really calm...your arm is twisted five ways...but I got it. It is slanted slightly forward at the base so it is deceving when you try to re-thread the new one. It would have been a help if I had pressure washed the area first. It's not in line of sight, there is a lot a grime that can get into the opening and cause the threads to tighten. Lubricating the seal and threads on the new unit made all the difference.
Thanks again
