4x4 conversion?
sombody on here had a post up on how to convert a push button 4x4 system into a manual 4x4 system for about $25, using common tools, and it required buying some sort of cable to run through the fire wall in order to use the 4x4. Also, this person included a web site and step by step pictures on how to do this. I can not find the thread but if anyone can please let me know the link or the web site thanks

mysons95 was the member who did the posi-lock setup, but it does not converter anything but the front axle engagement. The transfer case is still push button control.

Awesomeand thanks! But one quick question. When i press the 4hi or 4lo button the relay will make a click noise and the lights will flash about 5 or 7 times. will this conversion help me?

RE: 4x4 conversion?
Doubtful. The lights blink while the transfer case is trying to select the appropriate mode.

Yeah, if the transfer case is not engaging, then the lights blink for a bit and then switch back to 2Hi.
Tell me what gear you are in, if you are moving and what button you are pressing.

for 4hi im either in park or in drive and for 4lo im in neutral. once in a blue frickin moon it works but 4lo more than 4hi. if the vehicle is moving the lights won't blink and if they do come on then they both stay on untill i stop and press the button again

RE: 4x4 conversion?
This is deeper than my knowledge can help with. It sounds like a transfer case issue, which I don't know anything about at this point in my time working on the truck.

well i wish somebody knew what was wrong with it. i mean its not worth taking to a mechanic and i dont have the cash to do that. besides it always feels better to fix it urself if u know what the hell ur doin.

Just know that with your current vacuum actuator still in place, when you press your buttons, you have two things happening...
1. you are adjusting the transfer case to get ready to run in 4WD and either to remain in Hi or change to Lo.
2. you are engaging the front wheels so when the transfer case engages, you are in full 4WD.
