When was the last time you did a tune up? Has the timing been verified?
Have you replaced the fuel filter?
The fan noise is likely caused by a fan clutch that has failed in the full on mode.

i just bought it last week so i dont know when the last tune up was. i just did a tranny service on it. the timeing is dead on. had it check last week when i had the smog done. i have not replaced the fuel filter. thats a cheap way to find go. thanks ill check it. as for the fan clutch i am lost. how do i check that or do i have to replace the hole fan itself. thanks for the help.

When the engine is cold, the fan should spin with a little resistance. If it is rigid, then the clutch is locked up.
