Question 91 Blazer S-10 tailgate window floppy

Hi there. I was thinking whether or not i can get new pistons (i assume they are hydraulic arms) for the lift-up rear window as the current ones are slack and don't hold the window up at all. Has anyone had this problem before?
Regards,
J.

The hydraulic lift supports can go bad over time. I assume that is your problem. Replacing them is pretty straight forward.

Yup mine were toast... new ones are about 40 bucks each at NAPA, and 2 bucks each at the wreckers. I actually only needed one. Too bad one is not enough force to hold the glass up.

There is a little horseshoe shaped clip, you just slide a screwdriver into the flat spot enough to allow you to take the arm off the little ball joint thing. You dont need to remove the horseshoe thing from the shock thing, just pull it back a bit.
