I bought a new temp sender for mine at NAPA, it was 40 bucks.

You can take them off and go to the parts store, but once you remove it all the coolant above where the sensor is will end up on the floor. If you tape the new one with teflon tape, and the do the swap real quick, you wont leak much at all...

If you need to mail order them, it is nice to get the correct one, wouldn't you think so?

I don't know, would never buy something that I had to mail order parts. That's why I drive Chevy and ride Harley!

Man we're getting testy. I didn't put AC Delco in mine but the temp gauge sender is a single wire while the temp sensor in the manifold is a 2 wire. The reason I know is because I wanted to just replace the gauge sender and of course the guy sold me the one for the manifold. Got it fixed that day though. They look almost alike but you aren't going to get the connector to fit if it's wrong. Personally by the prices you threw down you aren't saving a bunch by going mail order. I think I ended up paying like $15.00 for the gauge unit locally but if that's what you want to do go for it. I like to look at them in my hot little hands before I buy them. Sorry man. I just realized you're in Sweeden. Yeah, probably do have to mail order them but if you're replacing both it'll be hard for them to screw that up. One each, right?

I guess you guys haven't seen my signature. where I live there aren't partshops in every corner that sell Chevyparts, might be for Volvo or SAAB.

If you understand that you'll see why I want to be sure

Thanks

213-928 is CORRECT. 213-4396 shows no match. I got a bwd pt191 for pigtail connector. you can search Advance auto parts or Autozone for part numbers. they are user freindly

If you are going to be mail ordering, I reccomend www.rockauto.com as I have ordered from them many times and they have awesome prices and my orders are here in 3-5 days, never longer. I saved over a thousand bucks on berrings for my sister in-laws Durango 4x4 by ordering Timken brand berrings from rockauto. Im sure alot of the guys on here have used them too. They have an awesome catalouge too, check them out for sure.

I have at least found the parts after a few errors.

These are from Standard Motor Products

Sensor - Coolant Temperature #TX3, this is the one up on the intake manifold. Doing a search on temp sensor ony shows this one.

Sensor - Temperature with Gauge #TS-253, this is the one for the temp gauge placed in the right cylinder head between the two frontmost sparkplugs.

Rockauto shows these as Coolant Temperature Sensor, where the TX3 can be found. For the TS253 you have to look at Coolant Temperature Sender.

Hope this will help someone.

Correct.

uote=jannes_z-28;329957]If I have understood it correctly the two sensors are:

AC Delco # 213-928 Engine Cool Temp sensor ECM 2-pin connector is the one on the manifold. 1991-1994

AC Delco # 213-4396 Engine Cool Temp Sensor Pigtail connector is the one in the cylinder head i.e. for the temp gauge. 1988-1994

Can you confirm?
