Default 93 S-10 Blazer Cranks but won't start

Hello everyone! I just spent the last hour or so going through the threads on here to see if there was someone else that had the same problem as I am having & fixed it but it seems like there is always a slight difference between their problem and my own and those small differences make a world of difference in some cases. (Basically this is a long winded apology if I am asking the same question that has been asked a thousand times)

So I have a 93 S-10 Blazer 4wd 4.3l Vortec VIN W with approx. 111k miles that my parents actually own but is my only means of transportation. One day I dropped off my grandma and as I was going through my parking lot it just died. It cranks but won't turn over - it seems like it wants to but just can't get there. I have replaced the fuel filter, plugs, distributor cap & rotor as well as the coolant temp sensor. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. There are no codes because the battery has been disconnected for several days in a row and as far as my understanding goes the computer clears the stored codes after that long.

Someone made a mention about the locktronics antitheft device that is installed from before we bought it. Could this be an issue? The device is a little key fob thing that has "gold fingers" on the end that you plug into a slit under the steering wheel next to the place you plug in the code reader. When I say gold fingers I mean like a Nintendo game cartridge has on it.

I also removed the stereo because I believed that it was causing electrical issues. I believed this because when I pressed a button to save a radio station on it the whole vehicle reacted. It is an aftermarket stereo that was installed with a wiring harness by my step-dad years ago.

Any ideas on what I can check or try next would be super helpful because I am getting tired of walking to keep important appointments and I am about ready to blow the stupid thing up. To make it more interesting, I am also on a very, very restricted budget.

Thanks in advance!!

Default okay

I take it you checked for fuel pressure and spark. So if you did. Did you check your computer to flip the code of 12. I think it is 12 for okay. To make sure your computer is happy. Can't Remember what you jump though to get it to flash the codes. c / d or something like that on the obd connector.

TTFN,

Joshy

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with the code of 12 thing. I've never heard of it before - if you don't mind could you explain it to me? I really appreciate it. Thanks in Advance

Your EGR valve might be clogged with carbon build up. Or could be fuel injector unit could have a leak or problem.

Code 12 just means the system is working.

If there were no other codes following code 12, there is not an issue with something the computer monitors.

I would suggest doing a fuel pressure test and leak down test.
Pressure should be KOEO (key on engine off) 60-62psi and should not drop below 55psi in 10 minutes.

Remove a plug wire and verify you have spark. If you do have an assistant add a spray of starter fluid. If it tries to start, you will know your issue is on the fuel side of the equation.

I had the same problem last week with my '85. Upon further investigation I figured out the air filter was completely black! Apparently the guy I just bought it from forgot you need fuel and AIR for a carb to run properly haha

What about the distributor itself have you thought to check that? Perhaps you dirtied up the cam position sensor while replacing rotor and cap

Sorry that it has been so long since I was here last - life got crazy for a minute
Anyhow, I don't have the means to do a fuel pressure test unfortunately. I was told that the anti theft system (loctronics) could possibly be the problem so I ordered a bypass plug from the business that services that brand of devices. Finally got it in the mail, plugged it in and nothing changed. I just replaced the ignition coil last night and now instead of cranking it just clicks. I have no idea what happened. Could replacing the coil have done this? Should I put the old one back in?
