94 Blazer bad miss

Default 94 Blazer bad miss

So I have a 94 Blazer.. and I was jumping batteries, but when i jumped then, i got the termals mixed up like a dumbie , motor was running, it arced and now i have a bad miss in it, idles fine, starts fine, checked the fuseable links near the battery power flowing thru them, you guys think it might of toasted the main computer ? and where is that located ?

engine computer is located under the hood, typically on top of the passengers side fender well.

I suspect you toasted the alterator, take it in to an autoparts store and have it tested for free.

While your there, have them test the ICM too. It controls spark timing to engine timing.

After that, its a chase the electrical around the engine. Distributor, wires, plugs, codes, cables, etc.

FYI, you can use a battery to weld two pieces of steel together in an emergency, it'll toast wires and sensative electrical components in half a heartbeat.

computer on the 1st gen is behind the glove box you can get to it from the floor on the passenger side floor it is held in by a nut then slides out if you look on the passengerside fire wall you can see the wiringharness going inside the truck
