My buddy has a 94 Blazer S10 Tahoe 4dr 4x4 with the 4.3L Vortec. His truck NEVER starts on the first try. The second try he has to pump the gas which is weird because it is fuel injected. Also, his truck like stalls out randomly when he is driving. He has 2 holes in his catalytic converter. Could that cause the truck to have trouble starting and die? Thanks in advance.

I would start by cleaning the throttle body including the iac motor and ports. make sure air filter is good and there are no vac leaks downstream of the MAF sensor

The two wires that go to the spider injector , I have the same blazer and it took me a while to figure it out . I guess they are pretty common to failure . The wires go into the front of the engine just give them a wiggle the next time its acting up and if it helps then you know .

and don't forget to check the main computer, I had the same problem... mine kept dying... I kept getting a o2 code, replaced the o2 sensor the pvc valve and the spider, still the blazer kept stopping. I finely had to replace the computer. very expensive to do all that work.

Could also be a fuel pressure issue. Check your fuel pressure, should be around 60 psi. The fuel regulator could be going bad and not giving you the fuel pressure needed to start the on the first try. So you need to cycle your pump twice to get the pressure up, so it can start. Alot of people will say its your spider, but its not, it the fuel regulator attached to the spider. Check your fuel pressure and let us know what your working with.

ok so my buddy says that the fuel pressure is fine. and i forgot to tell you guys that he doesn't know how many miles are on the motor. it says 90k but it stopped working before he bought the truck. from reading other threads, it kinda sounds like the fuel pump. also could clean the EGR. could it be electrical? please post any suggestions.
