94 s10 4x4 Rought Idle/Service Engine Light
Today I went outside and started my 1994 s10 blazer 4x4 automatic and noticed it had a really rough idle and seems like it is going to stall out on me, a minute later it had not improved and the service engine light came on...
It has been through half the tank of gas so I don't think it is a bad fill of gas but has a strong fuel smell when I gave it a few revs to try to see if that would smooth things out. It does not seem to have any issues while driving other than when I come to a stop it feels like it is going to die on me.
Anyone know what might be the cause of this I cant see anything obvious when looking around, or how about how I would go about diagnosing the cause of the engine light.
I have been letting it sit at idle for about 1 hour now and it has not stalled but still very rough idling. There was no signs of anything wrong with my blazer at all until today.

Well it's is something electrical, my guess is maybe it's the fuel pump cause my dad's blazer did the same thing except we didn't have a fuel oder, that may be caused by a bad fuel line i'm not sure though

Do you have the CPI motor (VIN W)?
If so, you probably have a fuel leak under the plenum, hence the fuel smell. It could either be the fuel pressure regulator or the 'nut kit' (the fuel pressure and return lines - they're plastic). A fuel leak will lead to a carboned-up engine, which will stick the EGR valve open at idle which causes a rough idle.
As far as getting the codes, go here: http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/. It explains how to get 'em and what they mean.

Looks like they do more - just remove the /GM.
