Default '95 Service Engine, Rough idle

Hi:

I've got a 95 4wd with 140k miles.

Driving today noticed that when I came to a stop light it wanted to idle VERY rough, possibly stalling.
The "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Ran rough at low speeds also.

Can you suggest any fixes?

Thanks!

i have same vehicle with 93K miles. same symptoms. mine was throwing multiple codes, including O2 sensor and TPS. I replaced both and cleared the codes, and it still runs the same. It has also had full tune up with new plugs and wires, new EGR, and still no change. POS is driving me nuts. It runs great, just idles rough. no codes being set now.

through research, mostly on this forum, I have concluded it is the fuel injection 'spider'. i am ordering that part today. will post results after installation.

I would first trying cleaning the MAF sensor and the EGR. Then start looking at other things.

Thanks Hillbillyinohio.

Any chance you could point me in the right direction as to location and procedure for these parts?

MAF sensor is in the air filter hose. The electrical connection is right there as well on the intake hose. and check this thread out. has pics of the EGR and cleaning steps.

If it's the CPI motor, there isn't a MAF sensor.

4.3 v6 Vortec.

Kyle...or anyone.....is the EGR located in the same spot pictured in the thread Hillbillyinohio shows? Mine's a 95 and I don't know what year the pic is of. I'd go out and look at my truck, but it's home and I'm at work.

Do I need any kind of gasket sealer for the EGR gasket?

How do I know if it's a CPI motor????

Thanks again guys.

I have a 95 blazer with the TBI 4.3, and have fought the rough idle...haven't been able to beat it. Though it has become less frequent!
