Default 97 blazer cylinder 5 miss fire

i have a 97 blazer with a cylinder 5 miss fire i have replaced cap rotor wires and plugs is there anything else cause this?

Yup, a distributor that is on its way out. Take off the cap and rotor and wiggle the shaft side to side, there should be absolutely NO play in it.

You may want to swap the wires around and see if your misfire moves to the wire that used to be on #5

Were the plugs gapped properly? Did you maybe bump #5 when installing it and close the gap? maybe dropped a plug on the ground?

You could also have some crap built up inside the cylinder thats making a red ember that lights off the gas before the spark.

Can you hear a spark jumping when its running? It sounds like a clicking like a BBQ starter or gas stove clicks to start. Can you see a spark jumping when its dark?
