blown fuse, keeps blowing
Hey, the 30 amp fuse near where my feet go keeps blowing. i believe it controls the power locks, interior dome light, rear defroster and the lights on my rear view mirror. the second the new fuse touches it blows. Has anyone else had this problem and found how to fix it?

Well, I don't have access to good wiring schematics for your truck so I can't narrow down the circuits/wires that you would need to look at, but if it's cooking a 30amp fuse, you better believe that there are some wires shorted to ground somewhere along the way...
Hopefully someone with access to wiring schematics can point you in the proper direction...

Yes, I can't remember the site, but you could Google it, I found a place online that you could purchase a complete wiring schematic for just about any vehicle for under 20 dollars. I had to when my old 89 gave me trouble.
As far as the fuse issue, theres a draw somewhere (I.e aged wiring) which is typical on older cars. If yours is a 1st gen I may still have the .pdf file I bought. However, I will have to dig it up off my old harddrive. I will get back to you on that when I have the time to reinstall it.
I don't know if you still need it, but I have the wiring schematic, it may differ slightly, but it should be accurate enough to keep you out of too much trouble. Let me know if you want me to email it to you, it is a 1.8mb .pdf file.
yea man, i'll take it. what parts do i need to fix the ground or wire problem?

Well the assortment of sockets to take off trim panels, maybe wire strippers, a soldering iron/gun, solder, electrical tape, screwdriver. Not sure what you will have to take apart to get to the wiring, but for the most part IIRC the screws are like a 7mm socket or a 10mm socket, depending on size of bolt/screw. Hope this helps some.
