ok so my A/C went out just before winter so i have just gotten to working on the problem now. The compressor will not turn at all ik that it is not the clutch or the compressor becuse me and my dad hot wired it to test it and both work it just wont run when pluged up to the truck. Any ideas?

 

Does it blow cold when you have the compressor clutch hotwired? If so, then I would suspect a faulty low pressure switch.

 

as far as I know but also i forgot to mention that since i have had the truck the max ac has never been max it is the same volume as the normal if that makes sence.

 

Max AC does not modify the fan settings at all. It just changes the flow paths through the HVAC system, mainly pulling changing it over to recirculate air from inside the cabin rather than pulling outside air in.

You really need to know if you are working with a low charge (AC does not blow cold when compressor is hotwired) or a full charge with something electrical causing the compressor to not run.
