Center Console Broken Mounitng holes
I noticed my center console was loose so I took every thing out of the console and realized that the rear mounting locations that the plastic had broken and the there was not much holding the console in place. I then came up with a way to repair the mounting locations. Here is how I repaired it with epoxy, PVC Grommet and some stainless steel fender washers. First I removed the storage box from the center console. Then I measured the diameter of the mounting location on the underside of the storage bin. I needed to make a form for the epoxy to fill the cavity where the plastic was broken. I went and purchased a PVC grommet that had a 3/4 ID opening. I then cut one side off of the gromment to have the proper height for my epoxy form. I made two forms from one PVC Gromment. I used crazy glue to secure the gromments around the mounting locations for the mounting screws. I taped over the mounting holes on the inside of the strorage bin. I then filled the screw openings with epoxy. Once the epoxy cured I used a large forstner bit to mill the epoxy surface flat. I drilled the holes for the mounting screws. Mounted the bin back into the console. I then mounted the console into the car using the orignal screws and fender washers. The fender washers were larger then the epoxy patch so the clamping force will also be on the plastic of the bin and not just on the epoxy patch.
