anyone know of a cheap code reader i can order for my 1994 s10 blazer 4.3L w-type?

u should be able to go to a local auto parts store like autozone or something and they will read the codes for u for free

here is another link I found, It is hard to find a place that has an ODBI connector plug but a few places do have them, call around if you don't wan't to do the paperclip method.
