Default code reader

Which code reader does the 93 s10 blazer vortec v6 use? Does using a jumper actually give you codes by flashing the SES light?

Yes using a jumper "aka paperclip" will give the codes by flashing the SES light on OBD I systems only, OBD II you have to use a scanner. Here's how I do it on my 94 Blazer. With the key off, stick the jumper across the A and B slot, turn the key forward but do not start the engine, after a few seconds the SES light will start to flash if codes are there. The SES will flash each code 3 times, something like this... flash flash flash pause 1-2 seconds flash flash flash then pause agian for about 3-4 seconds that = DTC 33. It then repeats the same code 2 more times, then move to the next code. I hope that helps. BTW you should be able to reset the codes by pushing the gas and brake pedal all the way to the floor and holding them there for about 3-4 seconds. Once you got the codes and reset them turn the key off, and remove the jumper. If you want to you can put the jump back repeat above and you should get a code DTC 12 which means no codes stored. Here's a list of DTC, please note they may only apply to the 6.5 Turbo Diesel such as my Blazer, but I think they should be the same for all Chevy's gas or diesel.
