it turned out to be the plugs afterall. i took out the plugs and compared them to the old ones(autolite) they both had the same gap. they only difference was the electrode on the autolites were tappered.i also made sure the wires were on tight.the new plugs said ac delco in the manf info on the box but the rest of the box only had an AC on them and wasn't in ac delcos normal blue and white color scheme. i think i got some cheapies or a really old set that was in stock for awhile. but alls good now and im gonna keep the autolites, nothing was wrong with them other than the fact that i seafoamed the throttle and crankcase and figured id change them when i did the oil change. big deffirence with the new egr too! sounds so smooth at idle! so beware of crappy old plugs from ac delco

 

Mine has a similar problem, and I just put new plugs in and that is when it started....hmmm....anyways, I am going to pull them out and replace them tomorrow...they are NGK's and I have never used them before...the Autozone I went to didn't have AC's in stock at the time so I went with NGK....I will pick up some diff ones tomorrow and see if that helps...I gapped to .045 as per Haynes, maybe I will take a gander at my Emissions sticker and see the right gapping....thanks for the post!
