diff should be ok if you are putting in say a tbi 350. Now if you drop in a nice 5.3 or 6.0 etc and you like stripping rubber,id look into something beefier.

 

Because 4.3 motor mounts are weak and poorly designed. They rip apart under a v6 and don't last any time under a v8. The 2.8 mounts are designed like normal v8 mounts and stand up well. I've ran rubber 2.8 mounts under a bigblock and they lasted. That design gm used for the 4.3 I wouldn't put under a 2.2 and trust.


The diffs will be fine as long as you are driving normal. If you get out trying to rock crawl or smoke the tires at every take off them you'll have problems.

 

Ok so the diffs SHOULD be ok. I used to own a91 and I know the ball joints are weak. Is it possible to put a solid front axle under there and get rid of all the weak s10 front end parts. Again I appreciate you guys helping out a newbie

 

I had jeep yj dana 30 front and ford explorer 8.8 on leaf springs under mine. Tore down right now putting ford dana 60s front and aft hopefully on air.
