fuel delivery question 89 4.3 tbi
#11
no i didnt change the fuel filter when we did the pump. it had maybe 10,000 miles on the fuel filter. on a side note when we replaced the pump. i wish i had, the sock on the pump was black and had a huge hole. and remember my truck has air ride so i allway roll with the rear of the truck LOW. i wondered if it rubbed the hole in it from hitting the bottom of the tank and the pump sucked up small pieces and finally failed. there was some small pieces floating in the tank we dumped out the gas and replaced the pump. re filled with gas and it ran. im gonna replace the filter and try again and report back. like i said i can hear the pump priming when i turn the key. so when i take off the filter im gonna have my wife turn the key on.
