Fuel Problem
Hello,
I have a 93 s10 blazer vin code W. I recently have been smelling gas coming from under the hood. No visual leaks. Then today I drove 40 miles than turned it off and it would not start again. I waited a while and it started up and ran for 30 miles than died again. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and it went to 60psi then when it would dye it dropped to 40 then 30 and died and the pump was howling. I replaced the CPI 40k miles ago and the fuel pump and filter just 4K miles ago.
Could the pump be going bad again?
I pulled the plenum it looks clean besides the carbon and gold ish color.
Could I have a fuel pressure regulator going bad?
Any help would be great!

That is funny you said that. I just got done reading a post on Airtex pumps. And yes it was.
I also did a pressure check on the regulator it it leaks from 60psi to 40 psi in about 30min. I was thinking that is pretty good.
Your opinion?

Just a follow up. New Delphi pump installed yesterday and I believe the smell of gas under the hood was a vacuum line on the back of the manifold that had cracked and fell off. So far everything seems to be running good!!!!!
