Default Fuel Pump/Filter replacement

OK, my blazer farted out on me the a few days ago and iam about 90% sure its the fuel pump. That being said iam about to change the fuel pump and filter and need a little guidance. This is the first time I have ever done a fuel pump (in tank) and iam looking for some advice/tips on it. Its a 1988 4X4 S-10 Blazer (4.3 L V6). Iam pretty sure the filter will be no problem but iam kinda playing it by ear on the pump ...Thanks guys.

Well first thing you should do is to test the fuel pressure. You use a fuel pressure gauge on the test port to do that. You can also jump the pump with the test wire also located under the hood to know if its even running. Otherwise you may change a pump with nothing wrong with it. Lots of people own test gauges that you could borrow, ask your neighbors and friends dads and stuff, or they only cost 50 bucks if you ever think you may use it again, then its a good thing to own.

Read through the search function at the top to find numerous topics that changing the pump and testing the components are talked about too.
