Default Help please! Torn apart 88 S10 Blazer

I am replacing my drivers side front fender on an 88 S10 blazer. The bracket that holds the oil filter assembly and lines in mounted directly to the fender behind the headlight. 3 studs off the fender with nuts to the inside of engine compartment, nuts came off easily but unable to remove the assembly off the fender. The bracket seems to be loose on the lower 2, but upper one I am not able to budge. I looked at the replacement fender and appears to be only the 3 studs off the fender which the assembly slides over and then nuts to tighten it. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like corrosion is holding it together at the top. Have you tried tapping it with a hammer & chisel?

Yes I beat it with hammer and chisel, Maybe some PB Blast and try some more, am I wrong or should it just slide off the 3 studs? Thanks for the response!!

I'm no expert on the 1st gens so I'm speaking from past experiences with aluminum & steel components when mounted together. Hopefully someone that has one of these can comment to let you know for sure.

Have you disconnected the lines? Sometimes they'll hold the housing in place. There's no sense ruining it. Man, just disconnect everything around it and pull it off with the fender. Probably easier to get off that way after the fender's removed.

Default Got it done!

Allright finally got it situated. A good soaking with PB Blast and some muscle and the SOB finally came off. Thw rest of the project went simple from there.
