Torn Leather Seat

Torn Leather Seat
My drivers seat is torn in a couple places and cracking in more. I know I can just throw a cover over it and be done with it, but my ocd wouldn't agree with that decision. Anyone have experience with having a seat re-upholster it? It's either that or I pick one up from a junkyard (cheapest I've seen so far is $200). It's off a 97 Jimmy SLT (grey leather, power seat). Also, what were the variations of seat styles? Do the Blazers look the same? Did the style change throughout the years?
Thanks mucho,
Jacob

They are not the same, same platform, but different brands so that makes the options and styles different. You could buy them off of eBay, or you could get them re-upped. They will both cost about the same, but with the re-up you have a little room for personalization, whereas if you buy the stock seat off eBay, you just get the stock seat. I-d go with the re-up and get my name or my model of ride stitched into the headrest.

I'd take it to a local upolstery shop. I just had this done on my vette the outer driver side bolster was worn about ready to rip. He took the skin off, cut out the old piece and used it as the template for the new piece. Sewed in the new piece with added foam so it does not happen again, with the double stitch. Cost to repair 65-70 dollars. You cant tell its been replaced. Also had the sunvisors recovered in black with a red stitch to match the interior theme (25 bucks).

I just picked up a set of front and rear grey leather seats for mine, they came out of a Bravada and were power
It is pretty sweet since the switches are in the seat - I just had to run a power and a ground wire to each seat. I paid $75.00 bucks for all three and the center console also. It took about 1 hour to remove old, clean carpet and install new ones.
