Need help taking the dash apart - 04 blazer
I have an 04 blazer 2dr 4wd. I am putting in a new head unit and i am installing a new powered sub. I need to know how to take the entire dash apart as i will be running the sub wires down the passenger side of the car. Any pictures would be awesome.
For a 96, yours should be similar.
If you click my signature you will find pics of my dash out for heater core. You can also see were my RCAs are ran.
Full Dash Removal: There should be 4 screws under the defrost cover (grill on top of dash), then there should be 1 at the bottom in each corner(near the door jams, total of 2). To get to these screws you will need to remove the kick panels. kick panels are easy, just use a flashlight and look at the dash from under and you will see the screws, they might be either hex or torx depending.
Cluster bezel Removal: To get to the stereo itself you will need to remove the cluster bezel, there should be screws in the top from underneath, then clips holding it in, you will need to remove the plugs from the backs of the switches to remove it and possibly the column shifter (if so there is a set screw under the boot).
Door opening Molding: If i remember right the molding just unclips and you can run your wires by poking it under the carpet.
REMEMBER: run power on one side of the truck and audio cables on the other, this will reduce the chance of noise in your audio.
Hope it helps!
