Default How to replace TBI?

One of the injectors is not working on my 91 4.3. I am Going to have to get a new (used) TBI from a junkyard. How can i relive the fuel pressure so i dont get gas everywhere? And will i just be able to unbolt it and bolt the new one on without making adjustments?
thanks,
keith

Default RE: How to replace TBI?

Your TBI isn't running huge amounts of pressure like the CPI & MPI engines. But you should be able to pull either the fuel pump relay or fuel pump fuse and try to start the truck. This should quickly relieve the pressure in the lines. Even without pressure, there will be some fuel that will spill out. You will want to have some rags under the line(s) to catch this.

Good luck!
