ign switch will not turn off an cant get in park

Default ign switch will not turn off an cant get in park

need help bad , my switch will not turn off an cant shift back to park. only can go to start side of switch does not release all way back very hard what is wrong, i took off trans linkage an trans shifts not no problem here, is there any thing electric that controls this this is a 93 blazer with tilt colum

Start with the shifter. It has to go back to park before you can get the key out. You should still be able to shut off the engine.

thanks for the help, i had to take out the switch before my colum would go back to park the tumblers in the switch was froze up would not rotate
first time i ever saw one do like this only rotated half turn back. even with the switch out still was not rotating.

Ahhhhh, the old Column problem....had the same, couldn't turn off the truck because my column shifter wouldn't go back far enough on the column for the ignition cyclinder to rotate back, now I have to keep my eye on it when I'm getting ready to leave the truck, PITA !!!!!
