Default Installing a tach...

Hey guys, I scored a neat little digital tach at an auto swap meet today and I was just wondering if I need to connect the tach directly to the coil like the instructions say or if there's already a plug sitting under the dash for the digital gauge cluster option that had the tach (my truck has the non-tach analog gauge package obviously). Thanks!

When I put one in my old 94 I wired it to the coil but some can have mounting tabs on them for the tach
