Default intake or head gasket leak

I have a 1984 S10 blazer V6 2.8. Is it possible if you have an intake gasket leak to get water in the oil? How can you tell the difference between a head gasket leak versus a intake gasket leak? Thanks

Yes it is possible. With that year of motor, usually it is the head gasket. If you only have the symtom of coolant on the oil, it would be hard to tell without pulling it apart. Korey

Thanks for your help. Would a compression test tell? If so what is the proper way to do it? Thanks
