Exclamation Need new lower intake gasket, is head gasket shot too?

Had overheating problem, mind u I REFUSE to drive my blazer if the temp gauge is at all above 210. Thought my water pump went out but mechanic just told me its my intake gasket! CRAP, and hope I can even afford to get it fixed. Ne ways, I have a 95 blazer vortec 4.3 4wd with just over 200k miles. Whats the chances my head gasket is junked too? And there is NO water in my oil either, if that makes a difference. And he is supposed to be bringing the proper tool tomoro to check it but frankly im SCARED ****LESS cause if I can pull the intake part out of my *** and get it fixed if the head gasket is junked too I will have to just look for another vehicle since I wont be able to afford all that work, being on disability makes it very hard when u have serious vehicle trouble. so can ne one tell me what the chances of the head gasket being blown is? and how much i can expect to pay to get the intake gasket replaced? its the lower one on the pass side around where the water pump is.

As long as you didn't extremely over heat it, you should be ok. Be prepared to spend anywhere from 600 to 1200 dollars getting it fixed though. Its about a 3 hour job, but the shop usually books it out as 6 hours. At 80 dollars an hour and 200 bucks in parts it adds up fast. Its a very easy job that you can save a lot of money if you can do it yourself. It just takes a bit of time.

as soon as temp gauge got half way/210 it was parked and shut off...never redlined, nor got even close. And friend is gonna do it I believe, he is certified and works in a shop so he has his own tools and the RIGHT tools lol so what would be a fair price for him to charge me? and i just replaced my radiator AGAIN less than 72 hrs b4 this lil leak appeared and i thought it was my water pump since its where the coolant came from...so could it possibly be my water pump?
